Frequently asked questions about the Warframe companion

Overwolf
Why is Overwolf needed?
For two things nothing else allows cleanly: receiving your inventory, and showing the application over the game.
- Your inventory. Warframe makes it available nowhere outside the game: the Warframe site has neither an inventory page nor an export, and Digital Extremes' official mobile app shows it without letting you take it out. Overwolf provides an interface for Warframe that passes our extension the inventory document the game servers send to your PC. The extension listens to it going by, it asks the game for nothing.
- The in-game display. The HUD (Alt+R), the objective mini-card (Alt+T), the market one (Alt+A) and the panels that open on the relic screen are Overwolf windows.
Is there really no other way to get my inventory?
There are two, and we refuse both.
- Reading the game's memory while it runs to take your session, then querying Digital Extremes' servers in your place. Some community tools do it. It means manipulating the game process, and we will not do it.
- Impersonating the official application of Digital Extremes with your Warframe address and password. That would mean trusting us with your Warframe account, and we will never ask you for your Warframe password.
We will not recommend a tool that does it either. As long as Digital Extremes offers no official export, Overwolf remains the only way we accept.
Overwolf has a bad reputation. What does that change for me?
The complaints most often heard are about advertising, the performance cost, and the feeling of installing a whole platform for a single application. Here is what depends on us, and what does not.
- Advertising : we show none. Not on the site, not in the in-game windows, at no tier: it is a decision, not a purchase reward. Overwolf, however, shows some in ITS own interface: that one does not depend on us.
- What our extension reads : everything is described in What the application reads, including what it never does.
- Performance : we have not measured our extension's in-game cost yet. When that is done, the figure will be written here rather than a promise.
- Overwolf itself : its client, its ads and what it collects fall under its own privacy policy ↗, not ours.
Can I use Tenno Crossroads without Overwolf?
Yes, in a browser: composing your roadmaps from the catalog, farming sources and their rates, the current world, the TC Relay, and the market with an account. You lose two things, and they are at the heart of the application: the in-game display, and everything that depends on your inventory (what you are missing, steps that tick themselves). Posting a warframe.market order also requires a linked inventory.
How do I uninstall everything?
- Remove the Tenno Crossroads application from your Overwolf library.
- On your account page, “Unlink” the PC: its permission to send is revoked, even if the extension is still installed.
- What our server keeps stays until you ask for its deletion (next question).
Your Warframe account
Do I risk a ban?
The application does not modify the game, automates nothing, simulates no keystroke and injects nothing: it reads what the game servers already send to your PC. But an anti-cheat can always produce a false positive, and Digital Extremes decides. If a suspension falls, open a ticket and stay factual: Digital Extremes support ↗.
Will you ask for my Warframe password?
Never, anywhere. The extension does not see it and no screen asks for it. If someone asks you for it in the name of Tenno Crossroads, it is a scam.
And my warframe.market password?
If you connect your warframe.market account to post orders, your password goes through our server once, for the time of the sign-in, and is never stored. What we keep is the session warframe.market gives us back, and it never comes down to your browser.
Why can my Warframe account be linked to only one account here?
So that recreating a free account does not reset the counters on the same inventory, and so that a subscription is not shared. We recognise a Warframe account by a fingerprint computed from two values of its inventory, kept hashed: neither your name nor your account identifier. If you really need to change accounts, write to us: it is something we do by hand.
I changed PCs
By default, an account links one PC at a time. Unlink the old one from your account page, then launch Tenno Crossroads on the new one: the application will offer to link your inventory, in one click.
Your inventory
Why is my inventory not up to date?
Because the game decides when it sends it: at sign-in, when entering or leaving a relay or an open-world town, and at about one mission end in two. Nothing arrives when returning to the orbiter. Nothing is lost for all that: each upload contains the whole inventory. The application shows the time of the last reading so you know how old the numbers are.
Why does the application show “?” or “to check”?
Because it does not know, and it would rather say so. Some things are not in what the game sends; others cannot be deduced with certainty. Rather than showing a plausible number, it writes what it does not know, and when it doubts it leans toward “you are missing”: one farm too many costs less than a build announced as possible that is not.
Your data
What do you keep about me?
Your account, your latest inventory readings, what you write in the application and a few technical traces. The complete list, with the reason and duration of each piece of data, is in the privacy policy.
Do you sell my data?
No. We neither sell nor rent any data, and we show no advertising: not on the site, not in the in-game windows. What Overwolf shows and collects in its own client falls under its policy, not ours.
How do I delete my data?
Write to us from the contact page, “My personal data” section. A human does the deletion: the button exists on the account page but is not wired up yet, and we would rather say so than let you believe it works.
Tiers and payments
What is paid?
Only our own tools: extra roadmap slots, HUD panels, and the subscription that adds market watching (price alerts, messaging, history). The game data, the catalog, farming sources and their rates will never be behind a payment: they are the same for everyone.
Who collects the money, and how do I get refunded?
Payment goes through Overwolf's checkout, not through us: a refund or cancellation is requested on their side. What we can do is restore on your account a purchased right that did not arrive. Today the checkout is closed and nothing can be bought. What will apply when it opens is in the terms of sale.
Digital Extremes
Are you linked to Digital Extremes?
Non. Tenno Crossroads is an unofficial community application, neither affiliated with, associated with, endorsed by nor sponsored by Digital Extremes Ltd. Warframe, its content, its names and its visuals belong to Digital Extremes.
Where does the game data come from?
From Digital Extremes' publications first: the current world state, the drop tables and the game's public exports. A community service fills in what DE does not publish, and a few facts (enemy spawn places, open-world gathering) were collected by hand from the Warframe wiki, with their source. Prices come from warframe.market. The application shows the time at which it read each piece of data.
I want to check what the extension does
What the application reads describes everything the extension reads, everything it sends and to whom, and everything it does not do. For a precise question, especially if you work at Digital Extremes or at Overwolf, write to us from the contact page.
